Born in Memphis, Tennessee to Ukrainian-Jewish immigrants, Lucy began studying the violin and piano at the age of 3. This household was one of music - her mother being a classical pianist and her father a jazz multi-instrumentalist. During her time in Memphis, Lucy had the opportunity to study with a variety of pedagogues including Kimberly Meier-Sims, Margaret Gutierrez, Joy Brown Wiener, and Soh-Hyun Park Altino.
At age 14, Lucy and her family relocated to New York City with the goal of pursuing greater musical opportunities and exposure, including the opportunity to study with acclaimed violinist Michael Gilbert (formerly New York Philharmonic). She later earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the prestigious Mannes School of Music, where she studied with renowned violinist and pedagogue Aaron Rosand and Daniel Phillips of the Orion Quartet.
Lucy currently performs on a Fabienne Gauchet violin made in Montreal, Quebec in 2020.
