LUCY VOIN is a multi-genre, internationally touring violinist. Comfortable in a variety of settings, Lucy has held chairs within recording sessions and orchestras, theatre productions, lead chamber ensembles, and taken the helm as a soloist.
Lucy regularly performs with the GRAMMY Award-winning 8-Bit Big Band (Charlie Rosen) and was part of the Drama Desk Award-winning production of Amid Falling Walls (off-Broadway). Lucy can also be heard on the soundtrack of the Amazon Prime Video series Expats, starring Nicole Kidman and holds the principal violin seat for The Wonder Years’s Burst & Decay III Tour (2025).
In addition to performing, Lucy holds a studio of private students in both violin and piano in Brooklyn, New York, ranging in age from 5 to 35. With a deep focus on structured independence, Lucy strives to foster the next generation of musicians in both classical and non-traditional styles.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee to Ukrainian-Jewish immigrants, Lucy began studying the violin and piano at the age of 3. This household was one of music - her mother being a classical pianist and her father a jazz multi-instrumentalist - and this reinforced her love of playing as the years drew on. During her time in Memphis, Lucy had the opportunity to study with a variety of pedagogues including Kimberly Meier-Sims, Margaret Gutierrez, Joy Brown Wiener, and Soh-Hyun Park Altino.
At age 14, Lucy and her family moved to New York City with the purpose of studying with the acclaimed violinist Michael Gilbert (previously New York Philharmonic). Lucy then went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree from the prestigious Mannes School of Music, where she studied with renowned violinist and pedagogue Aaron Rosand and Daniel Phillips (Orion Quartet).
Lucy currently plays on a Fabienne Gauchet violin made in Montreal, Quebec in 2020.
